THE FURTHER ADVENTURES

On 23 September, Wendy writes:
Zoe is doing very well. She has brought Kelsie into second puppyhood; on occasion it is hard to tell which one is the puppy!
Sometimes Zoe is minding her own business chewing on a toy, and Kelsie instigates a rumble. They are getting along much better than I expected or hoped. Kelsie has actually lost weight because she's not sleeping as much and is more active. She is the "enforcer" with Zoe - if I reprimand Zoe for something (like, "get off the furniture" or "don't chew on the shoes"), Kelsie huffs & puffs & growls at Zoe, as if to say, "you little brat, you need to listen to Mom!"

I've been living here with my new Mom & Kelsie for about a month now and I think this is a great place. I miss my sister, but with Kelsie around it's like having a buddy to play with. Sometimes Kelsie wants to play more than I do - I mean, I need to chew on stuff because I'm getting my new teeth and can't always stop my chewing to rumble or chase her around. I do enjoy stalking her, and taking her toys away is fun. We go on walks together and boy, does she ever walk fast. I try to keep up, but I don't have a fancy retractable leash like she does so she goes way ahead of us.
I got to meet my Gramma & Grampa a couple of weeks ago because they came over to my Mom's house for Gramma's birthday. Mom's brother Scott & his wife Lisa came too. It was a regular party. I am sending some pictures from that day (September 3). Gramma went to Scotland to visit her mum on September 6, and I got a postcard from her the other day!
Went to the vet again on Friday afternoon. I guess I'm eating okay because I weigh more than last time. The final weight was about 9.3 pounds but I made sure I wiggled around so they couldn't get an accurate reading. I also had to have more shots and got some stuff dribbled up my nose. That made me sneeze but if I want to go to puppy school (whatever that is), they said it's best if I get that done.
The vet said I was very well-behaved because I didn't make any noise or flinch when he gave me the shots. When it was over I got a treat. He said I might feel a little lethargic over the next couple of days, but I haven't experienced that. I feel great and am running around without a problem. Obviously he doesn't totally understand us terriers. It would take more than a couple of shots to make us slow down!
He talked to my Mom about when I could be spayed, whatever that means. I guess I won't worry about it for now. He seems like a nice enough vet; so far I don't mind going there.
Big progress today in the car - I didn't throw up at all on the ride to or from the vet. Maybe this going in the car thing could be fun.
More later!
