Yay! Another small milestone passed.
Today the dressing on my leg was removed as it has healed nicely.
I just hope the bone is healing as well.
There are two key holes diagonally opposite;
I'm not sure but I think that's where the screw went in.

The the long scar was to put the plate and wires in.
The nurse also confirmed that if I'm sitting watching TV,
I can take the arm brace off and let my skin breathe.

A card from Paula Lackner [of ATRA
(AIREDALE TERRIER RESCUE & ADOPTION)]
arrived today and is very much appreciated . . .

MARE MOORE
in Canada:
Excellent! That incision on your leg is looking really good, Jackie; nice clean edges
& no redness to be seen.

Re ". . . especially the back of my hand where there is still some swelling."
Unfortunately, that swelling in your hand still is due to the effects of gravity
which always wins and extremities experience it the most.
Yeah, it's gonna take some time to regain normal feeling in your skin
as undoubtedly there's been some bruised nerves from the accident
and those take approximately three months on average to fully heal.

I know it seems slow . . . but you ARE healing, so all that AIRE and other kinds
o' Zen & positive thoughts and prayers being sent your way
by so many folks are working in your favour, hon. Can't tell you how relieved
& happy I am to see no signs of infection around your leg incision!

You just keep on getting better 'n' better!
I'm counting that this will all be just a bad memory come the fall.

I kept meaning to take some pics of my lunches with the cheeses
in the hamper Mare & Andréa sent me.
Today's was the yellow cheese, a lovely smokey cheese.

PH

You can see Hamish hoping a bit will fall near him.
I still have the black cheese for next week.

Ohmystars . . . your restraint is admirable; as Nick said,
he'd have gobbled that all up long before now.
That looks like an awesome lunch, hope it tasted as good as it looked!
Pleased that you're enjoying the hamper's goodies.

BOB ANDERSON:
Beautiful card! Looks like she's healing very well!

NEAL SKRENES:
Good news.

Please thank Eileen Kemp (CRUSA)
for the card and good wishes I received today . . .

The good wishes are working and I feel a bit stronger every day.

Today's little milestone . . . I could hold the toothpaste tube with my left hand.
I still can't squeeze it yet, but I am working on it.

PH

I now have thumb-to-middle-finger
touch but not ring finger.

I've to ask the surgeon
at my next visit if they used
nerve blockers as I have no feeling
on the skin from my outside knee
to ankle and down the back of
my hand to my fingers and thumb.

It's a very weird sensation and
it always has a burning sensation.
I now understand why
Tom was in so much pain;
his whole body and legs
must have felt like that every day.
