Well I'm really on the mend now.
I had a proper shower and washed my hair,
then managed to get on my jeans and a pair of ankle boots.
Ann took me up to the shops and I had a walk round TESCO,
which was actually quite tiring.

They say every cloud has a silver lining and my cloud's lining
was my brother put my little plate display up for me.

Oh wow, that's awesome news, Jac.
SO happy for your positive progress; keep it up.
Lucky to have such a nice brother and SIL. Your plate rack
looks wonderful and appears to feature a lovely assortment
of ADT/Welsh antics.

I've been practicing my walking and
building up the number of steps each day.
I sat down at the table the other night, planning to eat my dinner
with a knife and fork instead of a spoon.
Shock - horror - my wrist wouldn't turn the fork
towards my mouth and the food was just shaken off the fork.
I was really surprised. So I know I can't rotate my hand
to the palm up position or turn my wrist very much.

My leg is doing a lot better.
I actually had a shower and did my hair this weekend.
I even got dressed to go shopping. Limited wrist movement
makes getting into leggings difficult; the elastic is stronger than I am,
but jeans are ok. I can't squeeze toothpaste tubes
and over squeeze make up tubes,
but I managed to present a reasonable look to be seen in public.

I'd promised Ann a bacon sandwich in town for lunch
the first time I could get out. Here I am in a café,
waiting for my lunch. It was a lovely day, bright blue sky.
lots of sun, zero degrees, but it felt good to be out.

SO good to see you out and about, Jac! You look good,
a bit tired perhaps, but I think that's to be expected
considering all that you've been/still are going through.
Baby steps. Enjoy your lunch and please say "hi"
to Ann & Mike thank them from us for taking such good care
of you, R & Lily too. They've been invaluable!

GR

NEAL SKRENES:
Good to hear you're up and working hard to recover.

Understandable about not being able to turn the wrist;
it's going to need a lot of massaging and stretching.
I imagine all of the tendons & ligaments have shortened from disuse.

Just like when a person who is left- or right-handed breaks an arm
and couldn't write, you'll have to teach yourself
to handle those utensils with your other hand.

GR

BRENDA ISAACS:
Awesome! Healing love sent to ya, Jackie!
