Mare Moore suggested to me that we send flowers to Jackie;
then she realized how impractical this would be,
having to take care of them.

Then Mare suggested a food basket . . . cheeses, crackers, etc.,
which I thought was an EXCELLENT idea!

Thank you so much for my lovely gift.

I've been waiting all morning
for a special pressure relief cushion
for my foot, so had Richard
back and forth every time
I heard an engine [outside].
I was most surprised when
he came in with
the box marked PERISHABLES.

I got him to open it for me.
I've heard the
black bomber cheese
is one of the best cheeses
you can get. I tend to be
living on cheese & biscuits
cos I have a very small appetite.

Ann just called in, washed my hair and helped me into clean clothes,
then made a ham salad sandwich for me.

The cushion still hasn't arrived.

MARE MOORE
in Canada:
SO glad that it got there today as promised and that you like it.
We figured you likely could make good use of some quickly-accessible nibbles that also provide some nutritious protein.

I'm feeling a little bit better today; the pain is subsiding.
It's strange - my wrist really ached but not my leg
and my ankle really aches but neither of these was broken.
They gave me codeine to take home with me,
but I have tried to only take paracetamol twice per day.

On the good news side, I had a thought yesterday and
called Team Schnauzer's dog insurance to see if they would cover some costs.
I knew they would kennel them for six weeks, but I want them here with me.
I explained the situation and if I get a doctor's letter to confirm my hospital stay,
they will pay me £30 [35.51USD] per day for each dog
for five days in hospital and 14 days when I got home.

Lily is with a different company and while I have more health care coverage for her,
they will only pay if she is taken in by a professional licenced dog carer,
but pay for two is good. I can give Ann something and Hellena,
the dog groomer, something; she collected Team Schnauzer today,
walked them, is going to do their teeth and bathe them.
She just wants £10 [11.84USD] to cover products.
I would have paid her £40 [47.34USD] today for sonic teeth clean,
but cancelled the appointment because I couldn't take them.
They go every month for teeth cleaning.

So definitely feeling chirpier today.

Hellena made me a gift to cheer me up . . .
