TUESDAY, 3 MAY
Well, it was a big change from yesterday. Very cold,
but the freezing gale that sprang up last night was now a chilling breeze.

I'm not sure what the birds are;
cormorants maybe. They're big,
black and look like a couple of jet fighters
coming in low over the beach.
|
I saw a man with a huge fancy camera today and asked him
if he got some good pics; he said, "No."
I showed him mine from yesterday;
he thought it was really good. I was quite chuffed.
|
Then I passed another man leaning on his car.
Lily pulled toward him to say hello.
The man looked at me and said, "Gorgeous."
"Thank you," I replied.
"I meant the dog," he said.
"I knew," I laughed as I answered him.

We went to Alford today,
a little market town about 10 miles inland.
They had the weekly market;
we bought some homemade
brownies that were delicious.
|
|
We planned to go to the Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary, but it's so cold we might wait till tomorrow.

This wee town is so nice
I was seriously thinking about moving here.
Everyone is so friendly and dogs
are welcome in most places.
But it could get very touristy in summer;
I might not like it so much then.
