On 20 August, Jackie writes:

We are off home early tomorrow to get Lily bathed
and ready for her spay day on Monday. I don't have to bathe her,
but she is a bit sandy & grubby and I don't want it causing any infection.

I was trying to catch a nice sunrise pic today;
Lily thought it should include her,
so she jumped up on the wall and posed for pictures.

Local plum cake; you eat it plain, with butter, toasted,
fried with egg and bacon or with cheese.
I used to work with a chap who ate it with cheddar.

Saturday night at the club house 'The Seagull',
when [younger brother] Mike & Ann came over to meet us
at Villa Parker and we went out for a drink and watch the cabaret.

These were taken in a photo booth thing at the club.
You could choose hats or masks and you went into an inflatable booth
and it took four pics like the booths you go for your passport pics;
it comes out like a postcard.

I took photos of the cards because they were poor quality.

I was just saying to my brother tonight that I heard some people
making up the bed in a caravan and it brought back memories of
Tom and my caravan holidays when we owned a tourer
and had to convert the sitting area to a bed at night.

AD: I just read a mystery that took place in a 'holiday home' resort like yours . . .
when someone mentioned 'caravan', the reply was,
"TRAVELERS use caravans; THIS is a holiday home!"

HALF

That would be true
about travelers, I guess.
It is a weird thing about English.
Caravan covers all types;
a tourer is towed by your car,
but a mobile is a static
or holiday home.
Now they join two
static caravans together
and call them holiday lodges.
