MOVING DAY

10 DECEMBER 2020

Jackie writes:

Well, the move went smoothly; the [moving] guys were great.
[They] arrived at 8 a.m., loaded by noon;
the keys were ready by 1 p.m.
and we were in and unloaded by 5 p.m.

It was a long day, as we were up at 5 a.m. to dismantle
the bed, TV and other things.

The garage and garden room are full of boxes.
I've emptied five; will do more tomorrow.

Before moving in . . .

Filling it up . . . It's never going to look nice and airy
cos we have so much stuff. I was moaning that it was
starting to feel claustrophobic as it's so full.

I guess it will get better when I'm more organised.

13 DECEMBER:

Another day spent unpacking or moving boxes.
Bonus: We looked in the loft and it was clean and half-floored.
That meant all the pictures and boxes of ornaments went up there
till we are ready to deal with them. That also meant we could get
the garden glider into the garage out of the rain.
It's been [raining] non-stop since we moved in.

Richard put his wardrobe back together.
Mine did not survive the move. Flat packs don't like to move
and this was one move too many.
I have a wee man coming tomorrow
to quote for a bespoke wardrobe with sliding doors;
it won't be much more than buying wardrobes.

My Xmas decorations - lol - a work in progress.

I was going to have the tree in the sun room,
but that will be next year.

I cooked a dinner tonight; we've been living on
carry-outs since Thursday.

The dogs come home tomorrow;
that will be interesting to see how they react to their new home.
