HOME AGAIN . . . 22 JULY

Well, I'm back safe and sound on terra firma, having had a lovely holiday, but it's nice to be back home with the dogs, and birds singing in the garden rather than gulls screeching overhead. I was brought up by the sea but have lived in the country now for 20 years and forgot just how noisy they are. Elle checking out her toys the day she came home from the kennels. Mahri checking out toys. Mr Mac sat by my leg and refused to stand in front of the camera, so no up-to-date pic of him. I had a very busy day at work yesterday, telling everyone about my holiday, so I have had to work very hard today to catch up on two weeks' worth of work. The chap who covers my job while I am on holiday was in a car accident and had several days off work. Tom bought me a super camera - am I spoiled or what - it's the brand new Panasonic Lumix TZ5 9 mega pixels, 28mm wide-angle Leica lens. The only thing it doesn't do is make the tea. I have a couple of photos from it, but I only got it two days before the end of the cruise so most of these photos were from the old camera. (Click on the camera for more info) you've worked your fingers to the bone producing a web of my holiday home an impossible project for the likes of me linking my pictures of ships at sea the towns the coast and setting suns the pictures of us having lots of fun they're all in there and oodles more bringing memories to the fore our special holiday for all to share we wish that you could have been there so thank you Andréa for working so hard producing this very special postcard

WHAT'S NEXT FOR JACKIE & TOM? JUNE 2009

Tom had such a good time, he has booked a similar holiday ("there're no pockets in a shroud", he says) for June 2009, to Venice, Croatia, Dubrovnik & Sardinia on a 16-day cruise. Tom's carer, Anne, who will be going with us, has decided to make the most of her free holiday and is booking her wedding on board. The captain will perform the ceremony; Tom is best man and I'm matron of honour . . . but it's a long way off yet.
