ALMERIA, SPAIN 3 JULY 2009

After three days at sea, we sight land - Almeria, Spain. After a long walk up a hill, we got to the fortress walls . . . . . . and could look down over the houses and a zoo. We headed for the town centre for some refreshments. The town Notice the viaduct in the background. Lots of coastal towns have roads like this; as you can see, the land is dry and quite barren, but this has all been burnt now as there have been huge fires in the Med this last few days. Inside the fort Almeria street. The buildings are all higglety pigglety and look as they've been added on as an afterthought. Dos cervetha por favor. Note the little dog half under the table . . . . . . this is the front end of that little dog. The lady took in rescues and had to shave off his coat because it was all matted, but left the hair on his head to protect his eyes from the sun. He was such a happy little guy. Safely back on board, en route to Dubrovnik. Must be champagne time.
