Another country, another dog . . .

This one was real smart and was the breadwinner. If you approached, it ran forward and sat by the bowl. If you put money in the bowl, it barked and the owner, dressed in Croatian national costume, came out and posed with the dog for a picture. If you didn't put a coin in the bowl ,he turned his back on you in disgust. I chose just to photograph the dog. There were lots of people busking, but this wee dog got the most attention.

Well, time to bid farewell to Dubrovnik and head back to the ship, which is parked round the corner in the next bay. We had to get a local bus from the new town to the old, which we picked up at the bus station. We thought we would get off nearer the ship on the way back, but had to walk almost back to the bus station to get Tom's wheelchair off the pavement.

In Europe the pavements are not wheelchaire friendly; they are usually about 10 to 12 inches high, have a slope at one end and either trees planted slap bang in the middle so you have to step onto the road to get by or, in Tom's case, go all the way back to the on ramp, then go along the road competing with cars, buses and trucks, which is great - if you're an adrenaline junkie!
