At 500 miles from the nearest land, a flock of gannets appeared;
I managed to capture two in this pic.

The weather was starting to deteriorate; you can see the storm on the horizon.
We had to change course and take a southerly arc rather than the usual northern one.

That was the last we saw of the sun till we docked in Southampton.

The second to last night was the last formal one; it was also the night of the
Grand Ascot Ball. We all went for dinner in the Chinese restaurant.

Tom was getting tired after all his early mornings.
After dinner, the girls said they were off to the Ball;
were we going to join them. Tom said no,
he was too tired, so off they went to the Queen's
Ballroom and I went with Tom back to our cabin.
I felt a bit like Cinderella. I mentioned it to Nita the next day.
She looked at me and smiled, "Does that make Kelly & me
the ugly stepsisters?" We never shared that joke with Tom.

Well, that's it, folks. I hope you've enjoyed the trip.
We docked on time and picked up our car, got home,
unpacked and collected the fur kids.

Mahri & Mr. Mac, after a quick circuit of the garden, went straight to their beds;
they seemed so glad to get back to their comfy layers of fleeces,
and were not getting up, not even for biscuits.
Elle stuck to Tom's side . . .

. . . but ignored him.
