Diving Chuuk is not just all wrecks and military "stuff".
While the historic artifacts are numerous,
you can't help but see how rapidly coral grows -
71 years ago these ships all were "clean" of any growth.

In the midst of death, there is life . . .

MICRONESIA

Anemone with Clown Anemone fish (back to camera)

These are VERY HARD to PHOTOGRAPH,
as they are very shy, and about the time the camera has "figured out"
how to photograph (focus, exposure, shoot),
the fish has changed position by the time the flash goes off.

MICRONESIA

I saw this sea cucumber WALKING ACROSS this Lettuce Coral
and I was amazed at how clearly his little tube feet could be seen.

Usually they retract or are buried
under the body, but this one
was motivatin' across
the landscape, pickin' 'em up
and puttin' 'em down
just as fast as he could.
