Experiencing security with DogPops

Amy Cada of TerrierL writes:

Verra cool! It is truly amazing how coordinated some breed rescues are.

In 1996 I rescued a pair of Cairns and contacted Cairn rescue. I was shocked that reimbursement was offered for the cost of springing from the humane society, etc,, and what a major network!

Unfortunately, in Scotties, we have a network, but it isn't nearly as well-coordinated. My web page would read something like this: "I got in the car, drove nine hours, picked up three rescues, drove home, took them to my vet . . . ."

I am envious and always point to Cairn rescue's efforts as the benchmark to reach for our club.

What I've seen so far in Zoe:

€ Good teeth; no bad breath at all.

€ No skin problems; no skin odor.

€ Ears very infected; will probably take quite a while to clear them out. Perhaps with an improvement in hearing ability, her obedience ability will increase and her skittishness will decrease.

€ No housebreaking habit; will need watching and GENTLE correction. I accidentally said NO! very loudly and terrified her. If you take her outside, however, she will potty; she just doesn't yet know how to tell you she has to go outside.

€ No idea what other dogs are for, nor what toys are for. She did pick up a ball this morning and carry it for a few feet, but that was it. So far.

€ She now eats and drinks, although the bowls have to be near her "cave", or she won't touch 'em.
