CHRISTOPHER WENT HOME, TOO

On 8 November, Theresa Kennedy, Post-Adoption Coordinator, reports:

Received the following wonderful update from Bruder's new Mom. Bruder was adopted in late October.

CHRISTOPHER has now been renamed Bruder and he is doing wonderfully! We all love him and especially our two-year-old Cairn Terrier Boss has a particular fondness for him, very protective of him!

He has adjusted to his new home very nicely and is quite the gentleman and an eager learner. Except for the first week where he had a few accidents (to be expected), he has been accident-free ever since and even holds it all through the nite. He loves sharing the bed with the rest of us every evening. In fact . . .when we say NITE NITE TIME . . . he runs into the bedroom and waits for me to pick him up on my side of the bed!

We do have him enrolled in puppy training class, which is beginning this Sunday at 10 a.m. for eight weeks. We brought him into the groomer's this past Saturday to have his nail trimmed and of course, to show him off, and everybody fell in love with him! He LOVES attention and there is plenty to go around when people see him!

We feel very fortunate to have found BRUDER (aka Christopher) on your website. As I told his Foster Mom, it was love at first sight and I believe fate that he was located in the next town over and the adoption process went so smoothly! THANKS AGAIN!

Thanks to CRUSA for another successful Cairn Rescue!

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.

Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top -
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never re-pack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
