OLLIE'S NEW LOOK

Ollie in his favorite spot
Marge writes to Lisa:
Our little Ollie is not that little any more; really changed from six months to eight months. He stayed at our groomers while we were gone; we felt comfortable having Ollie there as she is home all the time.
He came back a different dog! I don't know if it was because he was over the "puppy hump", or because she taught him to be a regular dog! When he came home we were able to take the barricades down from the dining room and behind the sofa. He stopped wanting to chew everything. He stopped chewing on Jim every time they were together. He is not the poop monster he was and is most of the time not interested in eating his own poop!
She did have a miniature schnoodle puppy about Ollie's age and she said they would play together as long as they got along. Don't know if Dickie had an influence on Ollie, too. It was like we had the wrong dog. There was another little black dog there and Jim said our groomer would be calling to say we brought the wrong dog home.
Ollie is calmer and has real eye contact with us for periods of time. We had kept him on a leash when the grandbabies were here in the past, as he was so excited to play with them that the kids had no peace. He would knock down the two-year-old in his excitement and scare her. Last week, after he calmed down and I explained to the kids he was a baby and they can help to teach him, we let him loose and the they all played just fine for five days!! It was unbelievable!!
He still does the normal puppy things, but does not drive us up a wall like he could before at times. It is truly wonderful now.
We are just so pleased with the way everything is going. Don't know what to think why everything changed in two weeks. I would love any theories you may have as to why things changed so much in such a short time. It is a real mystery to us, but a very good one . . . like going away and two weeks later your child is potty trained.

Ollie is well and very happy. Stopped eating poop, but is now into digging holes looking for worms which are almost as good as poop. Favorite perch is atop the chair by the front bay window watching for "SQ" (squirrels). Been working on the high-pitched warning bark. He remains the perpetual furry pup and will wear his Packer jersey with pride this Howloween!

Well, here is Ollie in all his glory. He was a very good sport and posed for a number pictures. He loves to wear the green & gold for his Packers!!
If you remember, he came from Lisa Zuleger's foster home up in Green Bay, so he has always been a devoted Packer fan. Lisa even took him on a tour of Lambeau Field, got his picture taken by the statue of Vince Lombardi, and was treated to a trip thru the fabulous gift shop where he was a hit - the sales ladies thought he was the cutest thing and they were so right!
His progress has been slow, but progress he has made! no longer tries to eat all of our furniture, but does like to try to tear his bedding apart. He perpetually guards the front yard from his perch on the back of a chair, but is less upset with the garbage men. Also doesn't mind the mailman, as he sometimes gets cards from his aunt & grandma.
Ollie is a joy and we still have hopes that he will be our best furry pal yet! We hope his spunk & puppiness stay for many years to come!
