ANNIE DOES THE DOGGIE DASH 24 OCTOBER 2006

Micky writes: Annie entered the Scott County Humane Society's Doggie Dash with her Westie friends, Woody & Daisy. Walking to the start line, it was all I could do just to keep the threesome untangled - I didn't have much hope for the walk/run. When the starter said, "Go!", suddenly we hated the thought of anyone being in front of us! Instead of tangling, we were full speed ahead. Annie ran almost the whole mile, with just a small walk break in the middle. We were the third group over the finish line. Annie was interviewed and will appear on Public TV in December and has her very first ribbon! She has gone from puppy mill to competitor in two months . . . she reminds me that each of us has the makings of a champion somewhere inside of us. Here Annie hanging out at an agility trial with some of her white friends. Outdoor trials are great social events.
