NOW PLAYING: WATERMARK Enya
MOLLY IN NEW JERSEY 18 DECEMBER 2011 Violetta Argueta writes: Molly was diagnosed with PLE (protein-losing enteropathy) in mid-July 2012 and should have died in October, but she is a trooper and began to get better; now she has IBS and is getting B-12 shots (she lost a lot of B-12 when she had the PLE) to see if that helps. Her vet bills are at $1400 since July 2012. Molly is a very pretty female Cairn terrier who turned 11 on 16 April 2013, yet still has the energy & strength of a five-year-old Cairn. She is wheaten in color, is fully house-trained, very sweet & also very active. Molly is used to humans of all ages, even small children, and loves attention & playing with toys. She also enjoys car rides. While she gets along with the Cairns in her Foster Home, Molly rarely engages them in play and prefers to play with the humans than with the other dogs, so she may do better as an only dog. We do not know how she reacts to cats. In her Foster Home she enjoys running in the fenced yard and barking at the squirrels & other critters; she also enjoys being indoors to watch the outdoors from a window, sitting on the top of the couch. Molly walks very nicely on lead; however, if she sees other dogs being walked on leash or a person riding a bike or a motorcycle, she is reactive and starts barking & pulling & making a scene. We therefore are looking for a home for Molly that has a fenced yard. Molly has a bowel condition that makes her stools soft. She takes daily prednisone and is on a special home-cooked diet (half chicken & half rice) for this condition. Without the prednisone & the diet, she gets diarrhea, loses protein and can die. Her vet is attempting to lower her prednisone dose, but it is possible that she will need to remain on 10mg per day for the rest of her life and not live more than a year because the prednisone will eventually induce Cushings. Due to this condition, Molly's adoption fee will be waived. MOLLY CROSSES THE RAINBOW BRIDGE 3 JUNE 2013 Violetta writes: Molly crossed The Rainbow Bridge on 3 June. She got very frightened by a storm and drank water compulsively. Her already delicate system couldn't take it and within hours, she was pooping & vomiting blood and she deteriorated very quickly. RAINBOW BRIDGE Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together . . . Author Unknown Medical & transport costs for these and other CRUSA rescues add up.
