. . . then dances into the Doggie Day Care area.
When asked about her speech, Shell writes:
Oh gosh! I just did it off the top of my head. But in a nutshell . . . I mentioned the fact that Pam [Simpson] had contacted me a few months ago about doing a Midwest Cairnfest and I said, "Oh yeah, sure . . . I'll help" and then proceeded to do absolutely nothing. I said that the entire day was the doing of Pam & Andréa and extolled the virtues of both of you to a fault but it was all true. I thanked Scott [Lubert], Greg [Martin] & Holly [Crotty] for their transport assistance during the past year and I asked anyone who had ever fostered to raise their hands and I thanked them. I thanked Maggie Houtz & BJ [Kelley] for coming from out of town and then I introduced Violetta [Argueta].
When asked about her speech, Violetta writes:
Dogs are coming in this year at the rate of 25 per month and we expect that we will end the 2007 year with 300 dogs taken into CRUSA. We of course have many long-term fosters (about 25 I think) from prior years who have not gotten adopted due to age or being special needs and that brings our number of dogs in foster care to about 80 at any one time.
Our 2007 intake compares with prior years as follows:
* 2006 - 253 dogs taken in Our cash burn rate is approximately $10,000 per month, with about 90% of that going solely to pay for vetting costs. At the close of the month, expenses were $70,000 and income was at $65,000 so we were $5,000 in the red.

Sarah [Kintop], Scooter and I had a good time . . . Chili (the Boston) prefers more chilly weather.
Did we mention there were cakes? Even though they were almost forgotten, when they arrived, they were beautiful!
