Faith continues . . .
I was so happy to put faces to names. I was calling Merlin one moment, and a woman next to me said, "You must be Faith." It was BJ!

We also met Pam Simpson, who had fostered Merlin for a bit before we fostered to adopt. And we met Andréa, which was a special pleasure. I know Andréa is already planning next year's CairnFest, but something must be done next year to relieve her at least a little of entrance duty so that she can enjoy some of the festival she worked so hard to organize.
Meanwhile, back at the Welcome Table . . .

Shell & Skippy's agility demonstration was inspiring. Skippy is a feisty little alpha terrier who scrapped with a couple of the other pups, including Merlin, but he was absolutely brilliant on the agility field. I definitely hope they make a return performance at next year's CairnFest.

I was fascinated by Violetta's grooming demonstration with the Mars Coat King, and I definitely hope that will be repeated at next year's CairnFest. She showed how it didn't remove the coarse topcoat of the Cairn the way clipping does. We are trying to adhere to hand-stripping of Merlin's coat, but I know that is not a possibility with most of the rescues who come to CRUSA, and it seems the Mars Coat King is an invaluable tool that provides a very good compromise. And buying them through CRUSA aids more rescues.
