THE PUBLICITY:
Imagine our surprise when we saw this on the front page of the local newspaper the next morning . . .
. . . and this article on Page 3 . . .
SO, WHAT DID EVERYONE THINK?
MARY BRABENDER & JOHN HUGHES:
CairnFest 2008 was such fun and I hope a success in your minds and hearts as well as ours and everyone else who attended! It literally goes non-stop once you walk in those doors. And then people arrive early. And holy smokes . . . you are off and running. Food was superb. The dogs were events in themselves. The site was really very nice, didnšt you think? Annette, who was there in the beginning, was helpful I thought. I hope you sold a lot of stuff at the Boutique . . . it was our delight to do something to support the causes of healthy dogs in loving homes and with loving people.
THE SHAMBAUGH FAMILY:
We sure enjoyed CairnFest today! I am surprised that Rocky & Romeo weren't more exhausted - I think they really enjoyed it, too. It was so good seeing everyone and meeting new people as well!
FAITH HART:
CairnFest 2008 was a blast. Merlin & I had so much fun meeting so many CRUSA people and so very many CRUSA dogs. I heard there were 70 Cairns and nine other breeds. Thank you, Andréa & Pam, for all the hard work you put into making such an enjoyable day for so many, and for raising so much money to help CRUSA continue its work.
SHANNON & JOE RADOSEVICH:
I second that!! We couldn't have had a nicer day, better people, or, of course, better dogs, even if we wanted to! Thanks to Andréa, Neal, Pam, Steve, and all of those who volunteered to take a little bit of the load off of them by helping out!!
We had such a good time and so did Mickey, Maggy & Maxie [f/k/a Tavish] . . . I loved meeting all the "girls" and their ELEVEN dogs from down south too . . . but somehow, when counting, they went home with TWELVE dogs.Don't forget to let us know what the new little guys name is going to be, Peggy!!
I hope everyone had a safe trip home!!
PEGGY NALLEY:
They love Foster Cody already. Aidan is showing him the ropes, I think, or is it Cody showing Aidan the ropes? Aidan just puts up with Cody's antics, but puts him in his place when necessary. They play really well together.
I was blessed meeting all the wonderful people and Cairn lovers and other dog lovers.
Cody had a bout with Coccidia, was hospitalized and, when he came home on 17 October, Peggy wrote:
Cody is home! He is his old self again, playing, jumping, and aggravating everybody. Everybody was really happy to see him, especially Aidan. They have become such good buddies. All are sound asleep now, thank goodness. Cody is just glad to be home. And yes, a decision has been made . . . Cody is home forever, his forever home, HERE.
After this week and all the stuff going on with him being sick and in the hospital, I know now for sure that he is home.
I guess everyone knew but me that I would keep him. FLUNKED AGAIN! I'm beginning to like this flunking thing! Haven't told my youngest son, Matthew, yet. He will be so tickled. They just have a special bond when he comes home from college.
Another happy ending for CRUSA
CHARLOTTE ANDERSON:
Here's another voice joining the chorus of "THANK YOU'S" for a great event and a great time! I'm certain Kizzie would join in, as well, but she is still asleep!
On the way home to Florida, 24 hours later . . .

. . . Kizzie is STILL worn out!
THE BERGIN FAMILY:
This was our first CF and we really enjoyed ourselves.. Joey enjoyed being with Dogs HIS size. Nicole (human daughter) really appreciates your kindness. I met some incredible people . . . bonded quickly and possibly life-long friends . . . in this world of chaos, I believe this was a much-needed break.
NICOLE THOMAS:
My mother & I had a blast. It was nice meeting everyone. The kids were wore out last night.
SHELL & JIM LEWIS:
A big "thank you" to Andréa & Pam from Skippy & Molly and family for a fabulous CairnFest event. What a wonderful day! All of your hard work was evident in every detail . . . from the food (which was excellent!) . . . to the holiday boutique . . . to the wonderful goody bags and giveaways . . .to the weather (OK . . . so you didn't have anything to do with the weather).
Thank you again! We had a great time.
HOLLY CROTTY & MAZIN MERGHANI:
Thank you two for such a wonderful day. It was beautiful out and it was great to see everyone and their dogs. You both did a fantastic job planning this year.
BETTE BOYERS & DEB SCHEURING:
Boy! Did we have a nice time! What a pleasure it was to meet everyone and see all the beautiful dogs. I was in Hog (oops) Cairn Heaven! All of you should be proud of yourselves for all the unselfish things that you do to make a difference in these dogs' lives.
I hope to become a more active part of CRUSA soon, too.
Hope you made lots of money.
Love my mosaic print that I won, and the finger towels.
Bella had a GREAT time. She made it all the way from Kenosha to OUR STREET, when she threw up all over my back seat! Too many tuna brownies!
Next Fest, I think I'll bring the doxies (those Cairns sure didn't like any of the other breeds. They must know they don't look like them!)
Just wanted to thank you all, and let you know how great it was to match the faces to the e-mails. Although with Andréa's websites, I felt like I knew you all.
P.S. KRISTI KING & CONNIE HIGHLAND & Stevie Nicks enjoyed themselves, too!
TRACY HABENICHT:
Poncho, Snickers & I wanted to say thank you, too. We all had a great time. Snickers loved seeing Shannon, Joe & Lisa again, and Poncho met his girlfriend, Kizzie Anderson.
Thanks, Andréa & Pam, for all your hard work!
TONI BONNEY:
Yes, the internet is great, an indispensable tool, but there is no substitute for this face-to-face gathering. I truly enjoyed meeting and visiting with everyone. Beyond the money raised, the personal connection is invaluable.
Thanks Andréa, Pam & team. Another great event.
And thanks to so many who traveled so far.
Next year, Kentucky it is.
BJ KELLEY, et al:
Well, us Southerners made it back to Kentucky later in the morning. All were "pooped out" on the way home. Mikey, who Peggy is calling Cody since there is a Mikey running around Peggy's house sometimes (her nephew puppy - so it would be too confusing) is doing great! I've got video of him carrying a toy steak around that is bigger than he is.
Tracie's: Bob, Bailey, Gidget & Tinman
. . . a heartfelt thank-you to Andréa & Pam (of course, their hubbies too) for all their hard work. We had an AWESOME time meeting everyone and their Cairns Now if only the Southern CF can live up to this, we'll be doing great! Can't wait to see all y'all next year in Kentucky!!
TRACIE COTTON:
Yes, THANK YOU Andréa & Pam and everyone else who put on such a GREAT event. Lots of good ideas for Southern CairnFest '09! It was great finally meeting everyone I had 'talked' with via email on these boards. Everyone was wonderful and it's nice to have faces to go with the names.
Yes, we went home with 12 doggies and LOTS of stuff we didn't go up there with! We almost had to strap BJ to the roof! We made it back to Peggy's about 12:30 and then I got all mine in the car and we made the trip back to Nashville. I pulled into my driveway about 3 this morning. The dogs are still pooped! They have been sleeping all day. They had a great time!
So thanks again, and we'll look forward to seeing all of you next year in Kentucky!
CARLA LUEDEMAN:
I had soooooooooo much fun at the CairnFest. The only thing that would have made it better would have been MORE dogs! Everything else was perfect! Thank you for being the best organizers EVER!
THE WATSON FAMILY:
Thank you to everyone!!! It was a wonderful and fun event and it was so wonderful to meet people that I have talked with, emailed with and seen and heard so much about and of course all of the furkids!
I really can't tell all of you enough how much fun our family had! It was a wonderful weekend and just so good to meet people and see so many dogs. You all did an awesome job!
I can't wait till next year!!!
LINDA SAVAGE & DEB HODGENS:
Debbie & I had a great time and are looking forward to Kentucky next year.
Thanks to everyone who worked on MWCF08; it was a great success.
GAYLE & BOB KIESOW:
Ya know, I am not sure there are words that express how impressed and appreciative Bob & I were of all your hard work, for so many months, and the fabulous event you put
on Sunday. We had such a wonderful time! Never seen anything like it before and cannot wait until the next one.
Everything was so perfect and you gals worked so hard. I am thinking you were both in a coma by Sunday night and probably today as well.
Thank you so much for all you do!
JUDY DOMM:
Andréa & Pam, it was an amazing day. Thank you for all you do for the Cairns!
CHERYL & JULIAN BANE:
Thanks so much for ALL your organizing and work at the event, Andréa & Pam. We had soooo much fun, especially WIllow. She ran and played for hours and loved it! When we were leaving, Julian said, "Just a few more minutes, please???"
Quite a successful event! Can't wait until next year!
PATTI & TOM SUNDLING:
Everything was very nice.
You all did another great job with all the planning and I understand everyone showed up.

You folks put in a lot of hard work
KUDOS!

SANDY DUERLINGER:
