PUMPKIN SPICE
BUNDT CAKE
W/BROWN SUGAR FROSTING
4 DECEMBER 2024

AiredaleMom Lela Criswell sent me the recipe for the cake
she was making for her Saturday-after-Thanksiving get-together . . .

PUMPKIN

. . . which she obtained from a newspaper-that-shall-not-be-named,
and I planned to make it after we finished eating
the PRALINE PUMPKIN PIES I made last week.

Mixing station #1 . . .

PUMPKIN

. . . ignore the salt; there isn't any in the recipe.

Sifting the dry ingredients . . .

PUMPKIN

Eggs & pumpkin purée . . .

PUMPKIN

And yes, it does look curdled, but that's normal, Lela sez . . .

PUMPKIN

Ready to pour into the bundt pan . . .

PUMPKIN

. . . the mixture is so liquid, I won't have to smooth it with a spatula.

So, what's wrong with this picture?

I'll give you a hint . . .

PUMPKIN

Yep, I completely forgot to add the dry ingredients!
I was distracted by . . . a fave Holiday song coming on,
or the SolarGuys on the roof, fixing the panel damaged
by Hurricane Milton (or a squirrel; who knows) . . .

Those are my stories and I'm stickin' to 'em!

So I scraped the mixture back into the just-washed bowl . . .

PUMPKIN

. . . and made the correction.

Even tho Julia Child famously dropped the turkey in her kitchen,
and said what happens in the kitchen stays in the kitchen,
I'm not proud. Misteaks are made, and often make for an amusing story.

This sure looks a LOT better . . .

PUMPKIN

. . . and will taste better, too, I'm sure.

I re-sprayed the bundt pan . . .

PUMPKIN

. . . and I did have to smooth the mix with a spatula,
so I knew I'd fixed it.

PUMPKIN

Out of the oven . . .

PUMPKIN

. . . and cooling on the wire rack . . .

PUMPKIN

. . . "guarded" by RicoBadBoy.
