19, 23 & 24 JULY 2022


This recipe from the PREPPY KITCHEN looked so good,
and I had several pounds of strawberries, so off I went on another adventure.

On 19 July, I did the strawberry reduction, something new for me . . .

I stored it in the fridge, as it took almost 45 minutes to "reduce",
and I didn't feel like baking anything, as I had just made BERRY COBBLER.


21 JULY

Allrightythen . . . time to bake the cake. Brought the butter,
the egg whites and the strawberry reduction to room temperature.
Reached for the backup bag of sugar . . .
OOPS. IT'S NOT A BAG OF SUGAR, IT'S A BAG OF FLOUR!

I was so ticked off at myself for not keeping correct inventory,
I put everything back into the fridge, even tho Neal offered to go to the store.
No, I told him, It's late at night; I'll just go to Walgreens tomorrow morning
(it's located at the entrance to Tarpon Woods);
it was MY fault for not having put it on the shopping list.
