Yesterday, a box arrived on our porch; no idea what it was,
as I was only expecting an order of white chocolate to be delivered on 1 August.
Out came this silver package . . .

. . . the white chocolate I was expecting next week.

WELL, I couldn't waste the opportunity to use it, could I?

I asked Neal if he would prefer white or semi-sweet chocolate on the pic.

He said, "Yes," so we decided - as one does with pizza -
to do each pie half of each, then we could decide which we like better.

My "decorative squiggles" look ugly; let's hope they taste ok.

This one is a KEEPER; the taste was good; not too sweet,
and the berry juice didn't soak through the crust.
I put the second pie in the freezer, just to see what would happen to it.

2 AUGUST ADDENDUM

Yesterday, I took the second strawberry pie out of the freezer;
today, we had some and it was still delicious. So, if you, like me,
prefer making TWO pies from ONE recipe, and using a shortbread crust
rather than a deep dish regular crust, know that you can freeze one of them safely.
