SUMMER BERRY BUCKLE 7 JULY 2023
Back in May of 2022, I made a SUMMER BERRY BUCKLE, but that was before I began this NAILED IT! website. Neal emailed me this weather report; I think that 132 F was a typo. I could believe 102 F or 112 F, but NEVER 132 F! Anyway, as it IS hot outside, and as it IS a no-pool day, and as we are kinda moussed-out, and as raspberries & strawberries were BOGO this week, so I now have two containers of each, I decided to . . . bake.
Mixing station # 1 . . . If you want to make your own cinnamon sugar the ratio is 4:1; for example, four tablespoons sugar and one tablespoon cinnamon. Lots cheaper than buying it in those little spice bottles. Into the oven . . . . . . and out again . . . Buckles, moist fruit cakes with streusel topping, get their name from their topping's buckled appearance.
