B. DYLAN HOLLIS' CHEESY CORNBREAD #1 WITH JIFFY™ CORN MUFFIN MIX 27 JULY 2023
I wanted to make something without sugar, without whipping cream, without fruit, without OREOs™ and without using (and washing) most of the bowls, utensils & equipment in the kitchen . . . just some 'comfort food'. I had come across the YT Shorts video for this SECRET CORNBREAD; this evening was dreary & rainy, so it seemed a good time to try this . . . Imagine this with some unsalted butter & honey.
	Dylan's book, BAKING YESTERYEAR: THE BEST RECIPES FROM THE 1900s TO THE 1980s, arrived yesterday; not only is it an enjoyable read, I've already noted several future recipes.
[Hand] mixing station . . . Now I'd no idea what CHEEZ WHIZ™ was, except it comes in cans to put on crackers or to fool your dog into taking its pills. I don't even know - nor do I WANT to know - if it's real cheese. The folks at Publix didn't know it came in a jar, either; when Neal asked them to find it for him, they brought him cans of the stuff. Eggs are whisked; JIFFY™ corn muffin mix is dumped in . . . . . . and then the CHEEZ WHIZ™ . . . . . . into the pan and into the oven . . . . . . the final result . . . . . . and the taste test . . . You can tell by the size of the pieces I cut that I was hungry! I did cut the rest of the large pieces in half. This was soooooooooo good! I think I will make my own cornbread next time, as this was a bit too salty; now that I know CHEEZ WHIZ™ is a dip, I will try TOSTITO™ cheese dip with jalapenños, for a bit more flavor, or kick.
