What a lovely pie crust . . .

Never having "blind-baked"
a pie crust - that is,
baked it without a filling -
I had to buy some pie weights
to keep the crust's bottom
from puffing up during baking.

I started the process with a pastry cutter,
but then reverted to using fingers . . .

. . . which is what happens when I work with my plants, too.


Two-and-a-half tablespoons of ICE WATER later . . .

. . . and wrapped up to go into the fridge . . .

Technically, I could've gone on to roll out and bake the crust
15 minutes later, but the pie weights have not yet arrived,
and we are still working our way through the
[NO-BAKE] OREO™ ICEBOX CAKE
I made several days ago.
