and jumped in the pool to cool off my enthusiasm . . .

. . . the batter never got to the point of being "rollable",
even after adding quite a bit more powdered sugar,
unless you like to roll brownie batter.

So they, too, became drop cookies . . .

The recipe supposedly makes 15 cookies; they must each be the size of saucers,
which they almost are . . .

. . . AND I discover that my newer non-stick cookie sheets
aren't as non-stick as my older ones are
so I'd advise using parchment paper . . .

. . . but Neal, ever the diplomat, says they taste good,
altho I do warn him they could pull out fillings and crowns!

15 AUGUST ADDENDUM

Neal ate ALL the VERY CHEWY CHOCOLATE COOKIES;
I tried one and will make them again, without the espresso powder
and use parchment paper.
