CHOCOLATE CHIP
PUMPKIN BREAD
OR
FINDING RECIPES IN ALL THE STRANGE PLACES

6 OCTOBER 2023

We are constantly receiving mail & texts,
of offers to buy our house. AS IF!
We usually just ignore these offers.

However, THIS realtor knew how to get MY attention . . .

Now, I have plenty of pumpkin bread recipes
to which I could just add a cup of chocolate chips,
but I'm always willing to try a new recipe
for an old favorite.

Mixing station . . .

CHOCOLATE

I have no idea what grapeseed oil is,
nor where I would even get it,
but I figured canola oil would work just as well.

Dry ingredients whisked together . . .

CHOCOLATE

I didn't have any mace (again, whatever that is),
so I used the pumpkin pie spice
that I add to our coffee every morning.

Mixing dry ingredients into wet ingredients . . .

CHOCOLATE

. . . fold in the chocolate chips and pour into loaf pan . . .

Ready to go into the oven . . .

The white along the edge is PAM™ coming up.

. . . so ever-loyal Miss Emmie waited
until I was working at the table
to come around the other side of the kitchen.

Here I am, Mom, in case you drop something!

Out of the oven . . .

CHOCOLATE

. . . and out of the pan . . .

CHOCOLATE

The house and the patio smell wonderful.

As I was typing out the recipe,
I realized I'd forgotten the salt.
And the chocolate chips we had
were DARK chocolate, not semi-sweet.
Didn't matter;
we had some tonight with unsalted butter,
and then I had another slice!
