This ITALIAN ORANGE CAKE caught my attention
. . . so I thought I'd give it a try as it only required four ingredients.
Mixing station . . .
There were no large single Navel oranges available,
Zested and cut-up oranges . . .
. . . which tasted quite good at this stage.
First 1/2 sugar . . .
. . . second 1/2 sugar . . .
. . . flour . . .
. . . egg yolks & sugar, mixed with hand mixer to shade of white . . .
Mixing station . . .
Zest is already in egg white & sugar mixture.
Mixed together, orange pieces added . . .
. . . flour sifted in . . .
Prepared cake pan . . .
Kind of a DIY job, but it worked out.
Mixture into the pan . . .
. . . one of those thingies that promotes even baking around the edge . . .
. . . and into the oven.
After an additional 10 minutes of baking . . .
. . . and powdered sugar because otherwise it looks rather blah . . .
The cake had a texture I'd not experienced before,
