After lunch . . .
Some things I learned during this week of puppy-sitting:
I will never ever again wish for a puppy of my own.
In fact, I doubt we could even foster one for any length of time . . . the amount of attention a puppy needs is exhausting, mentally AND physically.
Having said that, I must admit he is a very smart kid . . . he knew his name, knew the command COME, knew to fetch and bring a toy back to be thrown again, learned quickly where the toybox was, is papertrained and stayed dry in his crate overnight . . . in fact, he is probably better housetrained than the four adult dogs in the household!
For the first time, Daisy had someone smaller than she is to play with; I think she liked that, although she DID have to discipline Louie about using those needleteeth!
Rico played with him a little; mostly chase & tug.
Cari ONLY did the playbows when Louie was in the potty pen; soon as I let him out, she ran away. I guess it was a game of Nyah Nyah Nyah. You're in a pen and I'm not!
Rosie's nose was so far out of joint it came around the other side . . . I suppose after maybe 19 litters, she'd had ENOUGH of puppies, thank you veddy much! Suprisingly, there may have been some jealousy on her part, which was a good thing, IMHO. I hope she'll forgive me soon for having Louie in the house!
Some lucky Forever Home will get a great little guy: one full of energy, playfulness, and great determination when he has his mind set on something. Agility would be a good thing for him . . . he needs a JOB or he will get into trouble. With a capital .
