For reasons that are rarely the dog's fault, a Foster Home is sometimes not just exactly the right one, and she or he has to be moved to another.
This was the unfortunate conclusion reached by Gayle Kiesow about Stacey, and we scrambled to find a more appropriate Foster Home for her.
Katie Kneesel, who attended MIDWEST CAIRNFEST 2008 [and can be seen HERE], had filled out an application to foster, and only needed a Home Visit to meet approval. As she lives only a few blocks from me, I did the Home Visit and came away very impressed . . . and with a new Foster Home for Stacey.
Kevin Smith, who had originally brought several of the OCTOBER'S TREATS to Wisconsin, including Zoomie Louie, was making another run to Missouri to pick up the OCTOBER'S TREATS 2 pups [who can be seen HERE], and he & Gayle arranged to have Stacey come Up Nort' with him (as well as Lacey, from the FRIDAY 13TH Rescue Mission of June 2008, who went to her Forever Home with Judy Domm & Leo and whose story can be seen HERE).
ANYway, the end result was that I again found myself driving to Slades Corners - only about 30 minutes away - and again meeting Kevin (we really have to stop meeting like this, Kevin!) to bring home Stacey AND to see the OCTOBER'S TREATS 2 pups. Kevin began his trip early in the morning, and by late afternoon, had picked up Lacey & Stacey from Gayle, transferred Lacey to Judy in Lake Geneva, and was waiting for me to pick up Stacey.
My camera, unfortunately, was on the fritz, so all pics of Kevin and the van he borrowed from his neighbor were useless. [Sorry, Kevin!] I was able to salvage a few of the pups's pics, which are on their site.
I then brought Stacey to meet Katie & her Cairn, Sugaree . . .
