STACEY, A YEAR LATER . . . 27 DECEMBER 2009

Dave Kahn writes to FosterMom Katie Kneesel: Well it's amazing that a year has come and gone, but what's even more amazing are the changes we've seen in Stacey. She's developed into such a sweet little girl. She plays with Chester all the time, has turned into a voracious little hunter (her determination makes us laugh as she tries to 'will' the squirrels to jump down into her mouth) and she has become quite a little snuggler. Stacey has her shy moments at times, but she rarely cowers and has become very trusting about letting us inspect her paws or anywhere else. Christy recently came to pick me up at the airport and brought along Chester & Stacey, who were very good with the little kids who came over to pet them. She has learned to be patient and definitely follows Chester's lead. We haven't really noticed her having issues with thunderstorms too much anymore. She's also gotten pretty good about letting us know by barking, whining or scratching that she wants to go out. As you can probably see in the pictures of her, she has definitely found her smile and is typically happy all the time (unless she is hamming it up for some food or a treat). The dogs sleep with us and she has definitely lost her shyness about coming up & snuggling. She also enjoys sitting on the couch next to us when we are watching TV and will hop up on the couch if Chester is up there so she won't be left out. Yup, she has officially become spoiled!
