HANNAH
GOES HOME

30 DECEMBER 2008

Shannon Radosevich writes:

On Tuesday, Baby Hannah went home with the Schlosser family in Illinois. Her new family has a mom, a dad, two girls, 12 & 15, and two boys, 18 & 21 . . . Hannah is going to love having all these playmates!

Hannah & Maggy . . . . she looks like she could belong to Maggy

(Maggy May is from
THE LUV CONNECTION I
Rescue Mission, February 2007.
Her story is HERE)

I talked with Cathi this afternoon and Hannah is doing great. She slept on the way home, and once she got into her new home, she made herself right at home! Hannah is making me proud by using the newspapers instead of the floor to do her business. She just isn't interested in going outside yet other then to play, Cathi said. They are walking her around the fenced in yard though to give her a feel for it.

So far the girls are being very responsible with her and they really love her . . . Cathi slept on the couch last night near Hannah who was in her crate because she wasn't sure how she'd do. Hannah slept through the night without a peep and slept until 8:15 this morning! She's eating well too. The girls are playing with her, playing fetch the ball, get the toys etc., so she is one happy little girl in her new home.

My favorite picture,
of Hannah sleeping on my lap . . .

Joe & I were talking about how quiet our home is without her running around and getting into everything! It's funny how a puppy can change the dynamics of your home too . . . . This little girl even got our Mr. Grumpy (a/k/a Mickey) to play with her . . . a first with ALL the fosters we have had in & out of here over the past two years!

I wanted to share a few of our favorite pictures of this special bottle-fed little girl who almost didn't make it. CRUSA's thanks to Carol for all she did for Hannah . . . she is definitely the best!

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.

Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top -
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hide Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never re-pack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
