After several additional weeks of recovery following his surgery,
our sweet little Panda was adopted by a wonderful family in the Twin Ciities area.
(They weren't really looking to adopt another dog,
but when they read about Panda, his story tugged at their heartstrings,
and, as they say, "the rest is history".)
Panda continued to wear his e-collar for a few more weeks,
but he is now totally free of that darned old plastic "satellite dish".
His private parts have totally healed, and now nothing slows him down!
He looks like a tiny fur-covered dust mop,
as he races around the house and he brings a smile
to the face of everyone who meets him.
Here is what his new mom Michelle writes about Chief:
He is the most loving little animal I have ever met.
He is also the happiest little man; always with a doggy smile on his cute little face.
His hair is growing back except for on his little tummy and around the new equipment.
I was thinking maybe some kind of covering around that area
in winter for when they go outside to do their business.
Marti continues:
Panda (oops . . . his family renamed him "Chief")
now has a safely-fenced yard to enjoy
and he get lots of good exercise.
Here is his doggie family (all rescue dogs);
from left to right are Penny, Fuzzy, Panda/Chief & tripawd Hannah.
(Chief also has two kitty "brothers",
but it was beneath their dignity to pose for this picture.)
A special thank-you to EVERYone who supported
our rescue in Panda's time of need.
We truly appreciate the donations that were sent to help with his medical bills,
as well as all the prayers for Panda's return to health
and the get-well wishes & encouragement
we received during Panda's medical crisis.
Because of generous, wonderful people like you,
One Starfish Rehoming Connections celebrates another
happily-ever-after story of a special needs rescue "starfish".
