Admittedly, we have a soft spot in our hearts for the special needs dogs
that no other rescue is willing to take a chance on.
These dogs would otherwise slip through the rescue cracks,
because their vetting might cost too much
or they might not end up being adoptable.
We love a challenge, and we love to prove our vets wrong
when they can't see the hope that WE can see in these dogs' eyes.
(We have one special needs dog - Rusty -
who is happy and doing well, eight years after
the Vet School gave him two months to live!)
Yes, we spend a lot on our special needs dogs.
It's because we believe in miracles.
And we believe in YOU!
Phoebe is a good candidate for the above procedures.
Her blood work all looks good, she doesn't have heartworms,
and our vet now tells us that she very well may not be as old
as we originally thought she was. She has just had a very sad, hard life!
(The arthritis in her hips might be from previously being hit by a car;
we'd like to have hip x-rays done
while she is under anesthetic for her dental,
and then we will know more about the extent and,
possibly, the cause of her hip problems.)
Over the past year, our rescue has spent over $50,000
on vetting the various special needs dogs we have taken in
(including MAX, BRAVEHEART, SWEETHEART, PANDA);
much of this money has come out of our own personal pocketbooks.
No . . . we are not wealthy people.
We are a very small rescue that spends all of its
extra personal money on dogs like Phoebe.
We don't take vacations, we don't drive a fancy car
and we don't live in a fancy house.
Unfortunately, we also don't ordinarily receive many donations.
We are so busy taking care of our special needs rescue dogs
we just don't seem to have enough hours in the day to do fundraising!
(As of yet, we haven't found any volunteers to help us with this.
If you could assist us, please contact us HERE
So, we are turning to folks who support our efforts
and want us to continue helping the special needs dogs
that no other rescue is willing to help.
Any donations we receive for Phoebe would be tax deductible for you
(since we are an official 501c(3) not-for-profit organization).
We believe all things are possible,
but we can't make Phoebe well again
without your financial support
We do not have any paid staff or any advertising budget.
100% of the donations we receive goes directly to help the animals.
If you can assist us now - with any donation, large or small -
we give you our word that your donation will go directly to helping Phoebe.
And we will keep you updated on Phoebe's progress,
as we become financially able to give her a whole new happy life.
We believe that sweet Phoebe deserves a break,
but . . . we need YOUR support to make this miracle happen.
We ask that you PLEASE take the time to share, crosspost,
spread the word, and contact any animal lovers you know
(on Facebook or on any other list/group/page) to help this little girl,
as we are desperately low on funds. Thank you so much!
