MAX IS TUTORED

7 MARCH 2011

Thanks to all the prayers & good wishes from Max's many supporters,
he came through his Monday neutering surgery beautifully!

(And, fortunately, they were able to just barely reach that retained testicle thru the scrotum, so they didn't have to make an abdominal incision, to go looking for it that way.)

Ph

His ears are no longer infected (although they are still very sensitive to the touch); we've gotten rid of the yeast infection on his skin (but we are still battling his bacterial skin infection; and have changed oral antibiotics, from Cephalexin to Ciprofloxacin).

Ph

Surprisingly, he hasn't gained any weight;
as I mentioned previously, he tested very low thyroid
(which isn't really consistent with being so thin,
but . . .).

Ph

We are going to wait a couple of weeks following
his neutering, then we will re-test his thyroid level
again, prior to starting him on thyroid supplement.

Ph

His droopy lower eyelids are also improving now that he's feeling better,
and our vet is no longer able to hear a heart murmur
(so we're thinking the murmur they heard previously
was just from being so emaciated and in such bad physical condition).

Ph

Max is going to the "spa" tomorrow for his twice-weekly medicated bath;
his hair is starting to shine and his skin looks a lot healthier!

Ph

So, we're very happy with the progress he's made,
and are hoping for the bald spots to fill in even more.
We hope, too, that he will start putting on some more weight.

Ph

We can tell that he feels a lot better though.
He's a happy guy now,
and that's what's most important!
