EVERY DAY, IN EVERY WAY, MAX IS GETTING BETTER & BETTER 18 MARCH 2011
Marti writes: Max is doing VERY well since he was neutered, since we've resolved his ear infection, and since we switched antibiotics (from Cephalexin to Ciprofloxacin) for his bacterial skin infection! (Note the hair growing back on his chest!)
We found tapeworm segments in his stool the other day, so we treated him for that too, and hopefully this will help him gain some weight. He's going back to our holistic vet on Monday (the 21st) to have his thyroid levels re-checked, and then - if necessary - we will put him on thyroid supplement.
Now that he's feeling better - as you can see in these pictures - he runs like the wind, he enjoys playing with other dogs, and he acts like a silly, goofy 75-pound puppy! Once he puts on a few more pounds (and once we've paid the remainder of our vet bill!), we can start looking for the perfect home for him. Max has a LOT of potential - he is very loving & smart - so we know that he's going to be a really fabulous companion for just the right adopter! On 4 April, Marti writes: Max is doing GREAT!! He is still a gangly adolescent (like a young giraffe!), but he has put on a couple more pounds and he feels & acts like a puppy! His eyelids are no longer droopy and his ear infection is totally cleared up. And, his hair has sufficiently grown back that people at the dog park no longer ask, "What happened to your dog?" Isn't that wonderful?????

MAX GOES HOME! HERE
