Jim Lewis managed to miss the entire Paddy Waggin' Rescue Run by going to Florida for a ten-day vacation . . . . . . but he got back in time to cuddle with Mildred . . . . . . and even share some of her kisses.
Shell writes: Mildred is just the sweetest dog. She justs want to be with you ALL the time. She'll lie in your arms like a baby for hours, but if you set her down - watch out! She doesn't like NOT to be paid attention to!
By the way . . . the breeder who surrendered her to us told me that she had TEN litters with her and chances are she was owned by someone else previously who bred her, too. And she's just eight years old. On our next Missouri run, we'll be bringing back her last pup, Truman, who is doing very well & getting stronger every day. I stripped Mildred Friday night and took off mounds of hair. She loved the attention and just lay there with half- closed eyes while I ran the Mars Coat King through her fur. Mildred is just a princess waiting for a handmaiden to come along! On 24 March, Mildred went to her Foster Mom, Janice Polito.
