LILLY (f/k/a MOMMIE/LILLIE) CROSSES THE RAINBOW BRIDGE 11 MARCH 2021 On 17 March, Pat Cranmer writes: Lilly was healthy three weeks prior. She was 16-1/2 years old. Blood work in January showed all was good. THEN she stopped eating in late February. Vet thought she hurt her back. Two weeks later I went to get a second opinion at a large vet clinic when my vet said I probably needed to let her go. This place can do CT, MRI, etc - it's in horse country, thus all the technology. An x-ray and bloodwork showed cancer in lungs, enlarged liver and he thought she may have internal bleeding starting. That was at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The vet gave her a megadose of steriod/pain med to get through the night. I didn't sleep all night. Thursday morning, she crossed the Bridge at my vet's office while I held her paw (we held hand/paw lots when watching TV). I'm devastated. Her barks were music to my ears. The silence here is deafening. Her trots on walks and in the yard were like watching a beautiful and happy dance. She was that one special pet, my heart/soul dog, my best friend. In the future I'll be adding another CRUSA pup, but right now I need to heal. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent; her eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, she breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together . . . Author Unknown MARY BING: You can tell from what her mom wrote they each gave each other so much love.
