This is the last leg of MIA's trip to Linda.
We had a few minutes to play and go potty.

Just a very short update about MIA. MIA is nicely settled into her training home at Quansa Kennels. She arrived yesterday afternoon about 4 p.m., thanks to the efforts of the wonderful transportation team who brought her down from Michigan.
MIA is everything I dreamed she would be; she is going to be a natural. She is already looking to Sass for clues and Sass has no problem letting this puppy know how a dog in our world behaves. I know life is good and this will be another awesome chapter waiting to unfold.
After settling MIA into a puppy kennel next to another eight-week-old male puppy whom MIA thought was rather handsome, Sass & I left for home.
It was on the way home that the tears started to fall as I was drawn back to another time of training. That time Sass was the puppy and Palanca was the dog in the back of the jeep. Well, Ms. P, you never were a social butterfly and you never were a Service Dog, but you taught me that manners are the building blocks for training. And that while not every dog will
be in the show ring, every dog will need manners.
Thank God for Quansa's Manners in Minutes class; it saved your life when nothing else could. I am the trainer I am because of the dog you were.
Life is good.
SIDNEY HARDIE:
Great job! It's always so nice to be able to follow these stories all the way through to their conclusion.

Mia is still at the kennel; she is learning to be calm with me.
Mia the "Mighty," as I call her, does not like this lesson so much. She thinks she should be that ruff 'n' tumble girl that duked it out with her brother. My ankles, socks, shoes & laces, in her mind, are faire game, but this is what is very dangerous for me; she did not like being stopped from her sneak attacks.
She is going to be a remarkable dog when we are done.
On 19 August, Linda writes:
What a wonderful night I spent with Mia last night, watching her in class. Quansa's Nanny Ruby is working with her right now while I sit ' watch, I sit beside her so that she gets to know me, but as of yet, she is still at that nipping shoestrings, jumping ' biting socks (dangerous for Linda) stage, so I get to sit & watch.
Mia, a/k/a Monster in Action (thus named by Ruby, who loves her to pieces), is such a smart wee woman. She is working on settle and easy, and is such a good girl. When she was not up working, she lay on the floor between Ruby & me, quietly.
When she was working, she pranced through the challenges like a gaited horse. I am loving this dog, the program, all of it.
Even more exciting: Mia will be going to a play day at a local park. All of this because seven puppies got dumped! Mia the mighty is changing the world - MINE!
The good news is her story will be told & heard.
I left the kennel last night thinking it is late, I am tired and once again I am leaving my dog behind; then I remembered the 13-week-old puppy who was happy & willing to work & prance and thought, I need
Mia to be everything I need her to be because I will count on her in the same way I have counted on Sass over the last 11 years to keep me safe.
I love that Airedale spirit and maybe that is why she is mighty . . . she has that great big 'dale heart.
