Luna went to see an orthopedic vet in Cincinnati on Monday.
He looked at the X-rays and said the right side hip socket
that is still attached actually looks normal. He sedated her
to manipulate the leg and could not get it to pop out of the socket.
He recommend that we not do hip surgery for Luna . . .
at least not right now. She is already on pain & anti-inflammatory meds,
and will start glucosamine/chondroitin and we will try get her
into a rehab facility that has an underwater treadmill.
Luna spent the rest of the evening with Mary O'Connell's girls.
I don't think you know me this well!

Sammy was most interested in Luna,
and she is the one in in the photos of
just Luna and one other dog. The only
trio picture we could get is when
they'd all turn and look
at the door when we went inside:
Hey, you're forgetting us&;#33
was the look we got.
Closest to the door is Rosie,
and furthest is Sammy.
Getting three dogs in one picture
quite a trick,
especially when one is so skittish!

Later on Tuesday, Luna was a good little traveler on the way back home.
We will schedule removal of the mass on Luna's leg with Pat's vet.
Meanwhile, Lynn checked with her holistic vet, Dr. Mary,
who also does rehab, Chinese medicine, acupuncture and chiropractic,
to see if she had any recommendations for a rehab facility near Pat
or perhaps a practitioner who could help with
Chinese herbals or acupuncture for Luna.
Dr. Mary gave us some websites to help research some local practitioners
and even offered to work directly with Pat's vet
if there are no local options on some possible Chinese herbals.
Dr. Mary also looked at the x-ray and gave us some questions
for Pat to ask her vet about a further diagnosis for Luna.
Pat will talk further with her vet and see what he thinks.
