19 Airedales Need Help in Arizona
On Thursday of this week, Arizona Airedale Rescue is receiving 19, yes, 19, Airedales. They were owned by a man who bred several breeds. He was evicted from his rental home in December. He took the small dogs and left the Airedales.

Someone with a kind heart tossed food and water to them, until the landlord came and removed the fencing around the property. So, then there were 19 Airedales loose in the Arizona mountains. Somehow they survived until a local health board person learned about them. He paid a neighbor to put out food and water. He also contacted Arizona Airedale Rescue.

As of today he had rounded up all the Airedales. They were taken to a local shelter, which is a kill shelter. The shelter vaccinated them. Melissa in Phoenix and a couple of friends will obtain them on Thursday.
It is a holiday weekend. Melissa has a vet clinic in Phoenix that normally helps. That clinic is full. There is a boarding kennel that helps with Rescue, but it is a holiday weekend and is full. There are foster homes for maybe ten of them. After Tuesday, the vet clinic in Phoenix can take a few and the boarding kennel should have space freed up.
Several Airedale people, one who works at the vet clinic, and one ofthe vet staff, will have a marathon tick dip and grooming session at the clinic this weekend.
They have had their shots. They will be health checked. They will be spayed and neutered in batches over the next week or so. They will be dipped and groomed.
And, if any of you would consider a rescued Airedale, we still have some for adoption. They are sweet, if extremely frightened and confused. (Those still AVAILABLE are marked throughout this saga, as are those who have been ADOPTED.)
Joey Warren replies: Goes to show you how determined and resourceful Airedales are - to have survived.
