BEAU COMES FULL CIRCLE TO HIS FOSTER HOME

28 NOVEMBER 2009

On 22 November, Chuck Rusk asks Paula:

Do you think Beau would be OK around small dogs?
How is his housebreaking? I think Andy would be great
with Beau. We have "only" six dogs now and
(dog help me) would like to try fostering an Airedale.
Who knows where this may lead?

[Chuck & Jay just finished fostering Shiloh for CRUSA.
That story can be read HERE.]

No taking side bets, Andréa.
My vet was doing the same thing when I rescued Griff.

Paula replies:

Beau is at the kennel yet so I am not sure how his
housebreaking would be. My only concern is that
he seems to guard his food around the other dogs.
Not the females as much as the males. He likes
to eat his food in the crate and when the other dogs
come near his crate, he stands over his food dish
and growls. He does play well with them outside.

So it is your call if you would like to foster.
Give it some thought and let me know.

Three hours later, Chuck writes:

Spring 'im and bring 'im.
The sooner the better. I'm off most of this week.
Andy needs the companionship.

Andréa, don't say it . . . .

Beau was still a bit ill with the flu all the Farmer Mike
castoffs at AppleWood Kennels had, but on 27 November,
Paula's vet gave the all clear for them to travel,
so Neal & I arranged to pick him up on Saturday.
Back we went to Schreiner's in Fond du Lac . . .

. . . where he sniffed the area around the restaurant parking lot
(no pie, Beau; sorry!) . . .

. . . looked 'round Up Nort'
Wisconsin one last time . . .

Ph

. . . kissed Auntie Paula goodbye . . .

Ph

Thank you.

. . . and crated up for the next step in
his journey to his Furever Home.

He gradually falls asleep as we drive south . . .
doesn't he look comfy on the bed
Auntie Paula made for him?
