CHARLOTTE CROSSES THE RAINBOW BRIDGE 20 DECEMBER 2013

Lynn writes: Charlotte crossed The Rainbow Bridge this afternoon. I held her close . . . I kissed her face . . . I scratched her all over and tried to burn all the specialness of her earthly body into my memory. My little hoppy girl started to slow down a few weeks ago. On Sunday she fell down the stairs. We took her to the emergency vet. Luckily she had not broken anything, but she was not right. They treated her for an inner ear infection . . . she was beginning to circle, appear like she was blind and had rapid eye movements. We took her home and hoped for the best of three possible outcomes. She continued to decline. This morning she quit eating and would not open her jaw to let me give her any medications. Just as Charlotte told us in no uncertain terms that she had no intentions of leaving our home and family . . . she also let me know that she had come to the end of her story. My heart is broken . . . the tears are flowing. I will miss my little hoppy girl until we meet again. Take extra special care of little , Charlotte! I love you beyond words. Take care . . . . LANA MacINNES: Very sad news. BOBBI PROCYK: I am so very sad to hear about Charlotte. At least she had a wonderful year with lots of love. NEAL SKRENES: Sad - BUT - she had a really wonderful last year, thanks to SOAR & Lynn & all the donor/support. She and her puppies touched a lot of people - the main joy in life for a dog, I think. SUE FORRESTER: Lynn, we are grieving with you for your little Hoppy Girl . . . aka Happy Girl, who made all of us smile and weep and smile again as she told you, 'I'm not leaving, Mom'. You gave her such a gift, the gift of true love and understanding, and now it's our turn to comfort you and watch her fly free and joyfully - but she'll be back to nosepoke you and remind you that 'I'm not leaving you, Mom . . . I'm just a little way over here'. JACKIE IKE: So sorry. Lynn . . . Charlie (@RB on 12/18/13) will be playing with her and showing her around! CINDY: So sorry to hear about Charlotte; she was a great girl. At least she had a great Mom for the last year . . . so sad

RAINBOW BRIDGE Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent; her eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, she breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. On 17 December, Patti writes: Bella has arrived. She has settled in quite nicely, but really doesn't like to hear the word NO. She didn't want to stay in her crate last night so - she slept with us and didn't make a peep all night (I don't even think she moved an inch)! She is a really good girl and listens very well. We do need to do some work on learning easy and no bite. She is doing a pretty good job so far with our "training" It's great to hear pitter patter around the house again. Merry Christmas to you all.
