ENZO RAFFLE WINNERS

Sue (finally) writes:
I do hope you've all forgiven me for dropping off the perch last night, after my Best Laugh posting.
Having been awake for something like 48 hours, and with many and several phone calls & emails hot on the heels of Enzo arriving safely, I could barely stand up. It was midnight before I got to that point, and the head was somewhat distant from the body. Not to mention the brain.
It didn't seem right or fair to rush into the next bitte of news when we'd barely digested Enzo's Safe Homecoming. And yes, the Quarantine staff has kept that hilarious piece of paper for me.
But the next bitte of news can wait no longer. I just do so wish I had EnzoPrizes for every single one of you, because it is you who have sustained Enzo, held him close & warm & safe in a thousand hearts around the globe.
How can we love a dog we've never met? I don't know the answer to that, but I know that you, like me, love Enzo so intensely & without reserve, that together we've pushed aside any & all obstacles, real or feared, and brought him home in a fashion that almost (but not quite) seems too easy.
Enough. Tomorrow, Thursday, we go to see Enzo at Spotswood Quarantine Kennels. And yes - the camera is coming too!
Now, the Enzo Raffle Winners. You would like to know, yes?
Should I take a leaf from Kodiak & Cheyenne, and string it out?
Okay, at the very least, a separate email?
The email titled Enzo winners arrived at 12:30 p.m today. My boss was hovering near my desk so I could not open it for 30 minutes. I've sat with bated breath and my hand twitching over the mouse desperate to take a quick peek but the boss was way too close and I'm only supposed to look at private stuff in my lunch break.
1:00 p.m. arrives and everyone rushes off to the canteen;I hit the open button and start to read: Oh no, I have to wait for the next email . . . can my little heart stand the excitement or will I keel over before the end of lunch?!
Sue continues:
This has, without a doubt, been the very hardest part of Enzo's Journey - announcing the winners of Enzo's Fundraiser Raffle Prizes.
Much & all as I am in awe of these wonderful prizes, each of them created & donated with measureless love, and knowing that wherever they fetch up, they will be treasured & cherished not for their value alone, but for all that they represent - those Airedale qualities we love so very dearly in our own Black & Tans - as I say, I am almost avoiding the final moments of announcing our winners.
I find myself likening this journey, these past months, to a large jigsaw puzzle picture. At one point, before we saw it, it was more or less complete. Along came the giant hand of Terrible Misfortune and flipped it into a thousand fragments, scattered to the winds and out of sight.
Little by little, tiny piece by tiny piece, the fragments have been found, discovered here and there beneath unknown layers, brought into the light by many searching fingers, and laid upon the table. Shuffling and moving them, trying to fit each piece here & there, we've reconstructed the picture together. As each piece has settled into its perfect position, the picture has become ever brighter.
Now, we have just the final few pieces to slot into place. We know where the pieces are; that's the big difference now. And in their allotted time & space, those last fragments of Enzo's Journey will, without doubt, slide into place with perfect ease.
You can see I am avoiding the issue ---- but let me play a little.
The trouble is, I really do so want a prize for everyone.
Okay - here goes. The very nicest thing about the winners is that different countries are represented. That in itself is one of the most powerful and strongest of the many cornerstones of this Journey.
The EnzoPrizes are announced from #7 through to #1, in ascending order:
There are three copies (signed by the As) of Emma's Journey: Won by:
#7: VIRPI SUIKKANEN of Finland
There are two Hippy Dippy Custom-Made Doggy Coats, created by Maureen Scott of Canada and donated as Prizes #4 & #3 Won by:
#4: JUDY DWIGGINS of USA
Now, a drummrrooooollll for Prize #2, the signed, limited-edition, matted, ready-to-frame print of Emma arriving in the High Wild Country: Won by:
PETER MORTENSEN of Denmark
And . . . trumpet fanfare ---
Prize #1, the Exquisite Wallhanging of Emma arriving in the High Wild Country, created & hand-stitched by Jeannie Abbott of Australia. Won by:
MAUREEN SCOTT of Canada
Congratulations to each & every one of you of the happiest & warmest kind from us all here in OZ. Thank you all with every fibre of my being for the extraordinary level of love, support, belief, encouragement & joy in sharing this life-changing journey. Thank you.
This is not the conclusion. Tomorrow, we look forward to meeting our special darling boy, and he will know by our gentle touch & kind reassurance that he is surrounded by softly beating wings of Aireangels, each of you who carry his name in your hearts.
Phew!! I'm breathing again just all this excitement and the winners well done to all of you spread around the world I'm very happy for them and hope they enjoy their prizes.
Congratulations to the winners of the prizes. It is fabulous that winning tickets went around the world, not unlike Enzo himself. But we are all winners for having been part of this journey; we're better for it. And the true absolute winner is Enzo himself.
Thanks to all of you for seeing this through.
WOW!!! We are thrilled to have won the Hippy Dippy Custom-Made Doggy Coat by Maureen Scott. Anabelle says she will be styling in TroutDale. The best prize of all will be seeing the photos of Enzo & his family together again. I understand what Sue means when she says we all fell hopelessly in love with Enzo. In every one of his photos, I could see my Bonnie's (@RB) sweet face. I could see Beau's loyalty & courage in his eyes, along with a bit of Anabelle's mischief. I am honored to have played a very small part in his journey home.
Thank you, Sue, for your gift of love & compassion. You, along with Enzo, are my hero.
MARE MOORE: I'd say a couple o' great big "AIRE"cheers are in order here for us all (but especially for Sue & Andréa:-) on a job well done . . . .
AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am truly speechless! I have revisited this email at least 20 times this morning and Išve been to Enzošs website another 20 because I cannot believe that Išve won something as special as the Enzo wall hanging . . . . I am so excited I can barely sit still at the keyboard to write this . . . . Sue, thank you so very much for making my day, my week, my month and, surely, my years to come with this wonderful prize! The Alpha Male even showed a tinge of excitement upon being told of the wonderful prize and wanted to know where I planned to put the treasure. I have not yet broken the news to him that we will be remodeling the house in order to provide a location of sufficient suitability . . . . To Sue, who had the vision to see that it was possible to bring Enzo home, to Andréa who had the skill to connect everyone working on this vast project, and to each & every one of you who helped Sue along the way in whatever fashion - well, someone stole the words right out of my mouth earlier today. You are ALL winners. This was an amazing project, incredibly ambitious, beautifully executed . . . . Išm so proud to count you as my very good friends! Big hugs all around.
Maureen & the Circus (happy dancing this morning for Enzo)
MARE MOORE:
How fitting that it was YOU who won it Maureen as you well deserve it.
Thanks, Mare. I don't know about "deserving" to win the wall hanging but I'm certainly thrilled to have done so!
Maureen & the Circus (who are snuffling all over me tonight because we picked up a new rescue today - and he was
JENNY DOUGLASS:
YIPPEE!!!!!!!! I'm so excited. I don't have that book and I've been wanting it. I can't remember the last time that I have won anything anywhere!
ELLANA LIVERMORE: I was almost as happy as Jenny to see that she had won! Love it when the Texas group wins something. Jenny, you will remember, is owned by Captain Jack (once was Pirata de México). What she probably doesn't know is that we did a world-wide effort to raise funds for him more than 18 months ago. Not such a big deal as the one for Enzo, but with the same kind of happy outcome. The ADT community is so amazing.
