Sue yells: OFF TO VISIT ENZO!!!
Yes, today is THE DAY!!!
Please give Enzo a hug from all of us in cyberland! I am so excited . . . I was thinking Thursday our time . . . not yours. Now we will see pictures sooner! Sue, I have been telling non-Airedale people what you have done and they are just so amazed . . . they can't believe so many people got together to make this happen for this little girl & her dog! You are really amazing to have plotted & planned the whole thing!
Today was the day.
Enzo is everything we knew he would be. Yes, he's another of those XXXXX-sized Airedales, rather like our Bigg Rigg. He has the deepest chest I think I've seen on an Airedale. He is strong-boned and sturdy and underneath the fluffy slippers and the woolly moptop, he's a good-looking boy. His one rose ear is permanently on alert, and he doesn't miss a thing.
He greeted us with mild interest, then wandered away for a space. We quietly came and sat nearby, on the floor, just letting him get used to us. After all, he's had a positive raft of strangers moving through his life in the past several days, and we are just two of them.
After a while, he lay down and relaxed. It was already a hot morning, and I blessed Simona for having given him a hairecut - a slight look of Black Russian Terrier x Airedale, but hey, cool is what matters.
While Bill took multiple photos, I simply sat and let him relax nearby. He is tired but well, and in a few days the jetlag will be over. He'll get to know us and by the time his quarantine is over on 11 January, we'll be strangers no more.
He's a sweet sweet boy, and our sheer happiness at seeing him safely home at last is, I think, pretty clear in these photos.
So the Enzo days will unfold . . . .
