On 18 July, Sanna replies:
Dear Sue,
What a sad story about Enzo. My heart bleeds for him.

We operate an official & approved quarantine kennel near Birmingham, and, if you could arrange for his shipment to England and find a suitable permanent home for him in England, we would be willing to quarantine him for free for the period required (Normal cost would be £1269.00). Before he can be shipped to England he will have to have an official import license and the license has to be sent to his address in Czech Republic and travel with him (we can courier that over?). Also if the owner can cover any veterinary treatments that might occur (considering his age).
Well let me know what you think and we can start the ball rolling.
It is a wonderful thing you are doing. Hope it will have a happy ending

19 JULY
Since my last update about Enzo, the senior Airedale in Czech Republic, much has happened. We are at least progressing, as the network of caring people expands and offers of assistance are coming in. It couldn't be more difficult, though, trying to tie up links between people in numerous EU countries, from this distance in Australia.
Quarantine assistance in England has been offered, in itself a wonderful & hugely-supportive gift. I know my absolute preference is to get Enzo to England, as I know we have guaranteed forever homes there.
But the biggest single concern right now is to have someone 'on the ground' in Brno, Czech Republic, who can actually act as our 'eyes & mind', and give us a true picture of his state of health & mind. He is depressed & confused, and very uncertain now. His arthritis is not good, and from the sound of it, he needs stronger medication for that alone.
I think, as of this morning in Oz, we may just be on the brink of finding that person. Through a contact in Hungary, I now have a name & a telephone number of this lady, and Atia will call her tonight.
So the journey continues. I have hesitated to send more frequent notes about Enzo, as the dynamics are changing almost daily and it only becomes confusing.
But, as we move further towards our goals, the first being to really know how Enzo now is, I I feel our way is being paved ahead of us. We need to establish things step by step, and that way we will reach the best decision.
For now, that is where we are. Here, but with our hearts right there with Enzo.
