Hallo everyone, it's me ME - ENZO!!!!!!
Really really early this morning, I just knew something good was going to happen. I could feel it in my paws.
The nice lady came around with breakfast, but she said something about no brekky for me, only my little heart tablet thingy. I ate that and said . . . huh maybe you've forgotten something? no, she said, with a smile. No, I haven't forgotten.
Just as I was thinking well, that's not quite fair, there SHE was. Right there at the gate, SHE was standing there with this great big happy face & my collar & my lead in her paws. I know what her name is, it's Sue. And the other nice person, well, he's Bill. He was there too, both of them with happy faces.
Oh! I just knew today was good. I bounced around & patted them with my paws, and they could hardly get me dressed I was jigging so much. But I let them put that collar & lead thingy on, and then Uncle Bill took me up to the play pen so I could . . . well, you know, just do stuff.
Auntie Sue, well, she got my beds & my tablets & other things from the kitchen place, and off we went in another direction. There was a car with the door wide open, so I figured it was for me. Yup. I was right. Spot on.
In I get, and I sniffed other Airedaley smells, so I guessed right again. More good things! The front seat was empty so I hopped between the seats and sat there, just so I could help drive in case they needed a helping paw.
Auntie Sue had put lots & lots of pillows & cushions to make a bed for me on the back seat, so I stretched out; for a while I just looked out the window as we were driving. We went through lots of streets & tall buildings and it looked like a big city; then I must have dozed off a bit 'cause the next thing I see is lots of gumtrees, just like I remembered many years ago.
We drove & drove & drove, and I dozed a bit more. It was hot but the aireconditioner cooled me off so I wasn't huffing & puffing any more. It was soooo comfortable on that bed.
A bit longer and I heard Uncle Bill say Enzo, we're nearly home. Enzo! Well, I woke up properly and there was a gate that said Wombat Bend. Hmmm. Wombats are like little round bears, I think, and they live under the ground. Well, that's what I remember anyway. Maybe we have to go under the ground too.
