WEEK NEARLY THREE

So now we have entered Week Nearly Three with our Star boy, Enzo.
It's quite difficult to remember when he wasn't here. If ever an Airedale could be said to have 'moved in' to Wombat Bend, it has to be Enzo. From his first few exploratory days when he followed in the pawsteps of Ascha & Aerem & Chester as they led him around their favourite haunts, he now takes himself off on many of his own investigations. I frequently look up from my office-bound day and through the window I see him pottering on the far side of the billabong, or heading off from his comfy bed on the deck to check on what's happening at the other end of WB.
He's discovered that soccer balls are here too, not just over in Czech Republic. He is a ball lover indeed, and whether it's a tennis ball or something more substantial, he's up for a game. And it's such a good way of getting those muscles gently toned up to support his hindquarters better. He is already vastly stronger than when he arrived.
I could fill pages with Enzodays, just watching him gain in certainty, each day bringing new levels of security & happiness. That big smile never leaves his face.
I've been waiting for the moment when he decided that one of the couches had his name on it. Yesterday was that day. I came into the living room and there he was, comfortably curled up, fast asleep in great contentment.
It reminded me of the first photos that Simona had sent us from Czech Republic, reassuring us that Enzo would be loved & cared for while in her charge. The fact that he was allowed on the couch in her home straightaway spoke volumes to me. He's safe there, I knew.
Me & my friends (Chester on the left, Ascha whispering to Enzo). Aerem is out for the day with his daddy.
