ENZO MEETS THE ENZOSTUFFIES
| |
---|---|
Enzo with Atia, Maia & the EnzoStuffies,
Maia & her new 'puppy', Goldie.
Goldie is the sweet puppy that Mary Gade donated as an incentive prize for Goldie's fundraiser (which is still up HERE), and which was won by Mareike Kuypers. Mareike promptly donated Goldie (aka Whiskers) to Maia, and I promised to deliver her/him to Maia when we came to Sydney.
Next day, Maia insisted on taking Goldie to school with her.
Atia & Maia have been following the story of Goldie, eagerly awaiting each new page of her progress, and it was Maia's idea to rename Whiskers as Goldie.
Atia is holding a photo of Enzo at three years old.
CINDY & TALLULAH: What great news and so glad to hear everything went well. You & Bill are truly wonderful people along with all the other people that made this long journey possible.
I hope we will always get updates about this big beautiful boy.
MARIE CHISMAR:
Thank you for all your hard work and for taking us all there through this wonderful email!
I got a lump in my throat just reading the email
YVONNE MURGATROYD: Oh Sue, why do the "Good Things" always make tears come to my eyes, here I am bawling, whatever for?? Just tears of happiness I guess.
I am just so happy that he is finally back with his family, Sue thanks from the bottom of my heart for all the work you put in to get Enzo back with his family.
LIBBY KARIER & MOLLY:
Thank you for sharing this homecoming with all of us, Sue; I could see it through your words. I, too, was weeping -- I think we all are -- with you & Atia, at such an emotional moment. I hope you've heard good things about Enzo settling in with his family since that magical day.
Ok . . . THAT made me cry! Brilliant, lovely and so heartwarming! Thank you, thank you, thank you for everyone who took part in Enzo's journey!
Many hugs all around!
MARE MOORE: Ah, but is WE who must thank YOU, sweet Sue, for your great courage, conviction, perseverance & dedication in seeing Enzo's incredible journey all the way through, from its heart-wrenching beginning to the joyous end you've just shared with us all. AND MANY THANKS TO ANDREA! Without her amazing computer prowess, where would we all be? BLESS YOU SUE!
HURRAY FOR ENZO, ATIA & MAIA!!
Ditto from here! You both are marvelous! Thank you, sweet Sue & dear Andréa.
Between the both of you, mountains are moved.
JACKIE McGUINNESS:
I'll second that!!
BOB ANDERSON:
What beautiful pictures and such a sad/happy time for all directly involved. Can't wait to read the "long" version!
MICK & IRENA & ZIPPER & MR. BINGLEY:
Well done, Sue & Bill - an amazing odyssey! just proves how much Airedales love humans and humans love Airedales . . . .
PAUL DIGGINS: I thought I felt a little rumble in the ground here in Kuwait at that time. What you have accomplished is mystical. You saw a family in need and an Airedale separated from their hearts. You imagined a solution and you made your thoughts, your dream, a reality. I know that you will defer to the many who participated but, for me, it was you that wove all the skeins of assistance into the fabric of this magic thing that has happened. You may be Sue Forrester but you are also our Dream Weaver. You have woven the threads of our hearts, our tears, our worries and our expectations into a marvelous carpet of love and family and reunion. There will be very few things that happen this year that I will remember or that will mean as as much to me as this. My heart arcs in my chest as I think about what you have done here. Every day Airedale volunteers all over the world perform little miracles of rescue, visitation, transportation and placement. Normally these miracles are individual parts of the whole story of an Airedale in need. In the case of Enzo you have laid miracles end-to-end, and in sufficient length & duration to span thousands & thousands of miles and hundreds & hundreds of days. You have spanned continents & cultures and brought us together as one. Enzo is home with Maia & Atia. Sue Forrester, you are my hero. Thank you.
Sleep tight, Enzo.
ELLANA LIVERMORE:
That was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. Paul has written what we all have in our hearts. Thanks, Sue and Thanks, Paul.
JACKIE McGUINNESS:
Paul, you have a wonderful way of saying exactly what we all feel/think. It was lovely; I bet you told your children wonderful bedtime stories. Maybe there is an Airedale book inside you waiting to be written . . . I'm sure it would be a big seller.
KIRK NIMS:
Hear Hear and well said to Paul Diggins' summation & appraisal of just what Sue has wrought in getting Enzo back to his family!
PATTI WEBSTER & BISCUIT:
I must shadow what Paul said . . . simply because it says it all! As I read through all the posts with tears & smiles as well, I must say hats off to Sue & Bill for making the reunion possible. Hats off to you also Andréa for keeping us so well posted (this time & all the time) -- anyone buy any stock in Kleenex yet -- I'm going to!
BOBBI PROCYK: I am so happy to know that Enzo is finally HOME! What an emotional trip this has been for both of you and all of us in the Airedale community. A lot of Kleenex has been used these past few months. Every day, I anxiously await the update of Enzo's journey to his own home. Sue, the way you write is making all of us feel that we are there too and have traveled this long journey right along with Enzo. I do think there is a book hiding in there somewhere . . . waiting to get out!
Sue & Bill, you are such very very special people.
Amazing Sue had a dream. Andréa had a plan. Throw in a sprinkling of stardust and Zen from the world-wide Airedale community, and you have a large furry miracle. Thank you all for making Maia smile that "overwhelmed" smile that she has on the bed. This whole journey must seem magic to her. It seems magic to me, too.
I'm crying, of course, and I even caught Tim rubbing his eyes.
MAREIKE KUYPERS:
I took a look at the updated Enzo website . . . I was so honored that Maia took her little Whiskers/Goldie to school.
